I want to again congratulate all those who completed Vision Quest along with me this last weekend. There were times I know we all wanted to say the heck with it. I’m hungry and tired and just want to go home. The good Lord was with us every step of the way. He gave us a quiet, still, and dry night that we were all appreciative for. As I said during the ceremony, we look for miracles every day. There were so many… did you see them?

We saw the moon shine brightly over us to help guide us through the long night. We saw the light of day arrive after what seemed like an eternity. We saw the sun shining over us even though it was supposed to rain and thunderstorm all weekend. We heard the birds sing and saw the animals running through the woods. We kept our fires burning and our shelters together until it was time to go. We were all safe and for the most part, dry, and never really alone. We all had our own visions and the journey was a little different for each and every one of us. The ending result, however, was the same. The spiritual bond between man, nature and God. The strength we find within ourselves to deal with whatever comes our way, and the love and appreciation we have for each other. We are a family… a strong family… a scouting family.

I also want to say how honored I feel to be one of the first women to be asked and to have successfully completed the Vision Quest.

TO ALL THOSE IN TROOP 74…THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR ALL YOUR HELP, LOVE, AND SUPPORT.
